To create your new page

  1. Navigate to Site Content/Pages
  2. Click the "Add new Page" button at the bottom of the screen
  3. Complete the form, using the guide below to fill out the form.

Field

Use

Identifier

Used to identify the page. Must be unique. Must contain only letters, numbers, and hyphens or underscores.

The identifier makes up the last part of the pages URL (e.g. http://www.fakoli.org/identifier)

Page Title

May be more descriptive than the identifier. Displays at the top of the page (in most page templates) and in the HTML Title section. Alphanumeric, special characters, and spaces are OK.

Description

The main page content.

Site

From earlier versions of Fakoli CMS. Deprecated, please disregard. Sites have been replaced by Sections.

Template

From earlier versions of Fakoli CMS. Deprecated, please disregard.

Page templates are managed through Web Site Configuration > Sections > Section Content.

Meta tag description

Published

Unpublished pages may be viewed by an administrator but may not be viewed by any other users. To ensure that the page is accessible to users, make sure this is checked.

Created Date

This is recorded automatically.

Author

Optional. It is recommended that you enter your name.

Taxonomy selections

Optional. Configurable classifying terms which may be applied to any content on the website, paving the way for future enhancements to searching and filtering.

Editing a Page

  1. Navigate to Site Content/ Pages.
  2. Find the page you need to edit and click on its title.
  3. Make the desired edits to the pages content and configuration.

The pages visible content may be edited in the Description field using the rich text editor. If you wish to edit the HTML, click the "view source" check box at the bottom of the text box. This will reveal an HTML version of the content.

When you are finished, scroll to the bottom and click Update Page.

Deleting a page

Before deleting a page, make sure that there are no other pages within your website that link to this page. Once the page is deleted, links to it will break. Also bear in mind that users who have visited the page might have created links or bookmarks to it. If you are not sure you want to delete the page, consider un-publishing the page first, because you can undo this action fairly easily if you change your mind.

Navigate to Site Content/ Pages. Find the page you need to delete and click on its identifier. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Delete this Page button.
